About Me
Siobhan Farrelly
Career
I qualified as a teacher in 1994 and have worked in mainstream primary and secondary schools. My interest in dyslexia and specific learning difficulties began when I was appointed as a SENCo in 2004. I have worked for specialist learning services in the Midlands supporting schools and parents to understand pupils’ strengths and barriers to their learning.
Vision
My vision is to create a culture of ‘Believe Achieve Succeed’. I want to inspire learners to believe in themselves, build on strengths, achieve goals, and succeed on their own terms. So, learners can view their dyslexia – or other learning difference – not as a deficit, but as a variation that can give them a strong advantage, to empower and give them confidence, to strive for whatever they want to achieve in life. I am currently employed part time for a Specialist Service where I work with pupils with Autism and other Communication and Learning Difficulties. I have also been an independent assessor working with the amazing team at Helen Arkell since November 2021, where I currently assess at Helen Arkell’s hub in London.
